Jonathan Edds Memorial Fund

Organizers of the third annual 5K walk and run to support the Jonathan Edds  Memorial Fund have announced details of the 2012 event.

Sponsored by the White Pigeon Parks and Recreation Department, the community activity begins at 9 a.m. Aug. 18, with a Fallen Soldiers Memorial dedication to follow at 1 p.m. at Wahbememe Park, at the northwest corner of U.S. 12 and U.S. 131. Capt. Josh Edds, Jon’s brother, will serve as the keynote speaker.

All proceeds will be donated to the Jonathan W. Edds Memorial Fund, through the White Pigeon Area Community Foundation. Funds raised will be used to help deserving charitable and educational programs and projects in White Pigeon.

Edds, a White Pigeon native, was killed five years ago by a roadside bomb in Baghdad.
