Contractor outreach meeting

White Pigeon Community Schools Superintendent Ron Drzewicki said Owen-Ames-Kimball Co. and TowerPinkster, will be hosting a contractor outreach meeting 3 to 4 p.m. Feb. 26 at Central Elementary School.

The meeting – open to any licensed and bonded contractor – will focus on bid requirements and promote participation in construction projects to be funded by a five-year, 3-mill sinking fund renewed by voters last May.

District officials estimate the sinking fund will generate approximately $1 million of revenue per year for the projects over its half-a-decade span.

For 2013, the sinking-fund project will include improvements to the parent drop-off area and bus-loading loop, and parking and driveways at Central Elementary.

Electrical and plumbing upgrades are also part of the project.
