Crash caused by failure to stop

A White Pigeon man who failed to stop for a red light on U.S. 131 in Lockport Township contributed to the cause of a three-vehicle accident last week.

Michigan State Police said William Bradford was driving north on the highway when he struck a southbound car turning left onto North Main Street at 6:30 p.m. Friday. His vehicle struck the passenger’s side of the turning car, driven by 31-year-old Hans VanEck, of Three Rivers.

A media release indicated VanEck was turning as the traffic signal changed to red before the collision.

A vehicle on North Main Street, driven by a 46-year-old Three Rivers man, was damaged as a result of the collision.

Bradford and VanEck were ticketed for disobeying a traffic signal.
