Another Sturgis versus Three Rivers basketball matchup will take place Friday.

After the girls’ basketball teams from St. Joseph County’s largest school districts tangled last week, boys’ squads from the two schools will play for a district championship at 7 o’ clock Friday in Edwardsburg.

The matchup was set Wednesday, when Three Rivers topped Vicksburg, 61 to 49 Wednesday, and Sturgis held off Paw Paw, 41 to 39. Three Rivers will enter the game with a 6-15 record, while Sturgis sports a 13-8 season mark. We’ll carry the game on WRCI 97.1 FM, with the pre-game show getting underway at 6:50. We’ll also stream the broadcast at WRCIradio.com.

Elsewhere, Class C action Wednesday saw White Pigeon top Constantine, 64 to 42. The Chiefs will have home court advantage in Friday’s district championship contest against Decatur at 7 p.m.

In Class D Wednesday, Colon needed double overtime to knock off Athens, 73 to 68. The 12-12 Magi will play 22-1 Climax Scotts at 7 p.m. Friday in Athens for the district title.
