Snook remembered

More than 200 people gathered Thursday at Riverside Church to pay their final respects to longtime Three Rivers resident and community advocate Bruce Snook.

Snook, 66, was a longtime employee at WLKM radio, the former director of the Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce and most recently the editor and publisher of the River Country Journal website.

Snook, who passed away last week from the effects of acute pancreatitis, was remembered by a number of speakers, including Mayor Tom Lowry, Three Rivers Lions Club President Barb Stutesman, Rev. Paul Booko and relative Dan Foster.

Stutesman noted many of Snook’s contributions were not just for the benefit of the club, but for the greater community. She said Snook left a remarkable legacy of service and suggested to the audience “we all endeavor to live up to this legacy.”
