Fugitive arrested in White Pigeon Township

Investigators from the St. Joseph County Area Narcotics unit arrested a wanted fugitive and served a search warrant last week.
SCAN officials had received information about an absconder from a federal drug case that originated this summer in St. Joseph County involving methamphetamine trafficking.
Officers on Thursday set up surveillance at U.S. 12 and Oak Drive in White Pigeon Township on the suspect, and with the assistance of troopers from the White Pigeon Detachment of the Michigan State Police, took the fugitive into custody after he was removed from a car leaving the residence.
The driver was also taken into custody for harboring a fugitive, felony firearms, possession of methamphetamine, and maintaining a drug house. A second passenger was arrested for outstanding warrants.
Sheriff’s officials said a search warrant was then obtained for the residence where the fugitive was staying based on evidence found in the vehicle. A search of the residence turned up further evidence of methamphetamine. A fourth individual was taken into custody.
DHS was called to the scene to take custody of four minor children.
