Invitation only crowd welcomed new restaurant

The newest restaurant in St. Joseph County hosted a by-invitation-only crowd Friday, marking the first public gathering at The Local.
Owned by Dan and Jamie Templin, The Local will open to the general public Saturday.
The downtown Centreville venue was previously known as the Round Up, which closed in late April.
Dan Templin said the eatery will focus on fresh, homemade foods. It also has a business agreement with Constantine Brewing Co. to offer several of the brewing company’s selections on tap.
Templin said The Local has about 20 employees and its signature dish is Thai-shredded beef. The specially prepared beef is featured in its tacos, nachos and sandwiches.
More information about The Local can be found on its Facebook page.
