Michigan Milk Producers close on Constantine properties

Michigan Milk Producers Association has closed on the purchase of two houses in the 400 block of East Second Street in Constantine, village officials were informed this week.
The council discussed abandoning the 400 block of East Second Street to facilitate use by MMPA and a public hearing was subsequently set for 7 p.m. March 16.
Meanwhile, Trustee Cathy Piper said she has heard several complaints that truck drivers turning from the MMPA property onto Depot Street were not looking for oncoming traffic.
Village manager Mark Honeysett said he would discuss the matter with plant supervisor Dave Davis. He added the village may need to establish a truck route for MMPA traffic and for the safety of all motorists.
