Two injured in Cass County crash

A Marcellus man, who police said was distracted by his cell phone while driving, was involved in an accident earlier this week that resulted in injuries to two people.
Cass County Sheriff Joe Underwood said deputies were called shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday to Volinia Township, where the incident occurred on Penn Road, just north of Dutch Settlement Road.
Andrew Fair, 20, was driving north on Penn Road when his vehicle struck a golf cart and vehicle stopped in the roadway. Police said the stopped vehicle was attempting to tow the golf cart, which had broken down in the roadway.
Annette Peters, 33 of Cassopolis, was a passenger in the golf cart when it was struck, while Gregory Peters, 34 of Cassopolis, and Donald Saint-Cin, 42 of Cassopolis, were standing in front of the golf cart at that time.
Gregory Peters sustained minor injuries and was treated and released at the scene of the crash. Saint-Cin sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo.
