Constantine principal moves to superintendent at Colon

Constantine High School Principal Christine Barnes has accepted an offer from Colon Community Schools to serve as its superintendent.
The job was presented following interviews with three candidates last week.
Board president Eric Wagner said Barnes brings to the 600-student district an impressive work ethic. In addition, Wagner said, she used to live in Colon, still attends church in the village and has a number of other ties to the community.
Wagner said after interviews and board discussion, Barnes and Christina Feneley, principal at Union City High School, emerged as the favorites. One advantage Barnes had over Feneley, Wagner said, was experience at the elementary school level.
A salary is still being negotiated, Wagner said, adding that Barnes begins the job Wednesday.
