Police: Man sped up to 160 mph on highway, posted videos

Police say a southwestern Michigan man could face charges after posting videos online of himself driving up to 160 mph on an area highway.

TV station WWMT aired some of the videos of the man driving on U.S. highway 131 that were posted on a Facebook page. Michigan State Police Lt. Dale Hinz says the driving put the public in danger. And Hinz says it’s brazen for the videos to be posted online.

The man recorded himself at times driving with his knees. Police went to the man’s home in Portage, where Hinz says: “He really had no excuse other than he likes to drive fast.”

The case is being turned over the Kalamazoo County prosecutor’s office. The Kalamazoo Gazette reports the man could be charged with reckless driving.  (AP)
