Boland appointed to Sturgis Board of Education

Sturgis Board of Education members voted this week to appoint Scott Boland to a seat on the board.
The vacancy was created when board treasurer Geoffrey Smith resigned last month. According to board president Kerri Millett, Boland was one of seven people to apply for the position.
She called the candidates “an awesome group of people.”
Boland was chosen as members of the board gave their first, second and third choices for the seat, and interviews were subsequently conducted.
Boland, whose seat expires in November 2016, has been a Sturgis resident since 1992.
He is part owner and accountant of a local business.
