Clifton C. Haydon, age 72, of Constantine, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016 at Bronson Methodist Hospital.  Clifton was born in Ypsilanti on September 23, 1943, a son of Clifton P. and Hiawatha (Johnson) Haydon, Jr.  He graduated from Belleville High School in 1961. On October 6, 1962, he married Nancy Smith in Ypsilanti.  He worked for 37 years at General Motors Hydromatic Plant in Ypsilanti and Three Rivers. He retired from American Axle, Three Rivers, in 2003.  Following retirement, he operated Haydon’s Consulting Computer and Machine Repair. Additionally, he worked at Fibre Converters as a consultant for 5 years.  He enjoyed working on cars and going to car shows, hunting, and Nascar. He was a member and treasurer of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Three Rivers.

Surviving Clifton are his wife Nancy Haydon, son Michael (Grace) Haydon of Constantine, son Ernest (Katharine) Haydon of Three Rivers, son Timothy (Jennifer) Haydon of Three Rivers, daughter Marylyn Haydon of Constantine, daughter Charleen Haydon of Constantine, grandchildren Courtney (Terrell) Tomorrow, Alex Haydon, Amanda (Juan) Mellado, Cassandra Bowers, Hannah Haydon, Jake Haydon, Sara Haydon, Samantha Haydon, and Matthew Haydon, 5 great-grandchildren, sister Joan Engle, brother Daniel (Faye) Haydon, and sister Nancy (Norman) Wood, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ronald and Robert Haydon, and sister Mabel Ott.

Relatives and friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Eley Funeral Home in Constantine.  Religious services will be held Friday at 11 at Edwards Corners Bible Church, 51047 Chamberlain Rd, Marcellus, MI 49067, with Pastor Kyle Foster, Calvary Missionary Baptist, officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Missionary Church.  Online messages may be left for the family at www.eleyfuneralhomes.com.
