Bud Krawczak, 78

Francis “Bud” Stanley Krawczak passed away on Saturday, July 30th, 2016 at Heartland Healthcare due to complications related to vascular dementia.

Bud was born on August 14th, 1937 in Saginaw, Michigan to Stanley and Adeline (Mrozinski) Krawczak. He married Mary Ellen Oldenburg and together they had four children. He worked at the Saginaw Grey Iron Foundry for twenty-four years before he and his family moved to Three Rivers in 1979. Here, he was chief engineer of the powerhouse at Hydramatic until he retired in 1989. Following the end of his career with General Motors, he kept busy working various part-time jobs. He enjoyed bowling and golf, as well as spending time with his grandchildren. He was an active parishioner at Immaculate Conception Church as a member of the Knights of Columbus, and he was a frequent blood donor to the American Red Cross. During his lifetime, he was also a member of the Saginaw YMCA Men’s Club and the Chief Engineers Club of Kalamazoo County.

Bud is survived by his wife and their four children, Francis “Bud Lite” (Robyn) Krawczak, Chris (Daryl) Griffith, Cindy Mostrom, and Matthew (Kristin) Krawczak, as well as his younger siblings Gale (Carmen) Krawczak, Daniel (Connie) Krawczak, Jeannine (Robert) Rankin, and Barbara (Michael) Gutowski, and his nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Margaret Mary and Valerian. “But at any rate,” as he always liked to say, a visitation will be held at Hohner Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 3rd from 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00PM, and the funeral mass to celebrate his life will be held at Immaculate Conception Church on Thursday, August 4th at 11:30 AM. Reverend Antony Rajesh and Bud’s cousin Reverend Richard Jozwiak will concelebrate. Memorials may be directed to Bronson Health Foundation or the Three Rivers Public Library.  Envelopes will be available at the church or Hohner Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
