Lillian Smeal, 78

Lillian E. Smeal, age 78, of Jones, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017 at her home. She was born on May 16, 1938 in Ripley, NY, a daughter of Ray and Evelyn (Green) Abbey. Lillian attended school in Niagara Falls, NY. In 1956, she married Marvin Smeal in Niagara Falls, NY. She enjoyed cooking, camping with the church youth group, and loved spending time with her family.

Surviving Lillian are her husband Marvin of Jones, son Donald (Beth) Smeal of Vicksburg, daughter Barbara (Blayne) Wolf of Jones, grandchildren Kendlyn Vickery (Frank), Erin Smeal (Todd), Marvin (Stephanie) Smeal Jr., Mark “Markie” Balentine, Rob (Sarah) Balentine, and Brandon (Amy) Balentine; great-grandchildren Corey, Nathan, Bailey, Jackson, Lila, Luke, and Mason; sister Thelma (Gary) Markwart of New York, nieces and nephews, and cousins. Besides family, Lillian has left many friends and “adopted” family who love her dearly. She will sorely be missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law Mark Balentine, sister Leila Alvarez, sister Linda Steroupous, sister Wyona LaTour, and brother Larry Abbey.

Cremation has taken place. Friends and family will be received Saturday, April 22 from 10-11am at the Union Baptist Church. Memorial services will follow at 11am with Pastor Brian Taylor officiating.
