Man arrested after fleeing scene

Sturgis Police K-9 Tucky was involved in apprehending a man who was wanted on outstanding warrants.
According to the Sturgis Police Department, officers were called around 1 a.m. Tuesday to the 300 block of North Nottawa Street in response to an assault and a man brandishing a firearm.
Officers were given a description of the man and shortly thereafter, encountered a group of people – two men and two women – in the vicinity of the incident. One of the men ran from the scene and was eventually found hiding under a grill cover thanks to the tracking efforts of Tucky.
He was charged with resisting and obstructing in addition to the unspecified warrants, according to authorities.
