Glen Oaks opens student housing

Glen Oaks Community College entered a new chapter in its history last week.
School officials, students and faculty gathered Friday to celebrate the grand opening of the David H. and Patricia A. Devier Student Suites.
A team of speakers who addressed the audience included Mary Judnich, from the office of U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow; Chris Maxwell, program director for USDA Rural Development of Michigan, State Rep. Aaron Miller; Adam Mensinger from Sen. John Proos’ office; Christy Trammell, executive director at Three Rivers Area Chamber of Commerce; and Cathi Abbs of Sturgis Area Chamber of Commerce.
Students began moving into their on-campus living quarters Saturday, with classes starting today.
