Motorcyclist dies in crash

The driver of a motorcycle operating at a high rate of speed died Thursday after failing to stop for police.
According to the Three Rivers Police Department, officers noticed the motorcycle on South Main Street near West Michigan Avenue, where its driver failed to obey a traffic-control device.
Officers pursued the motorcycle on South Main Street until it turned north onto 8th Street. Authorities said the driver failed to stop at the Broadway Street intersection and continued back to South Main Street.
The driver ignored the signal at the intersection and the motorcycle struck a semi tractor-trailer shortly after 10 p.m., according to a department media release. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver’s name is not being released until family members have been notified, according to authorities.
