Jackie Bower, 89

Jacqualyn J. Bower, age 89, of Burr Oak, passed away early Thursday , Sept. 28, 2017, at the Cox Medical Center in Branson, Missouri.
She was born Jan. 23, 1928, in Coldwater, Mich., daughter of the late John and Blendena (Cummings) Gest.
Jackie was a lifelong Burr Oak resident and a graduate of Burr Oak High School with the class of 1946.
On June 28, 1947, she married Fred Bower in Angola, Ind. He died Dec. 25, 1990.
Jackie had been employed by the Harvey Paper Company in Sturgis and the Continental Can Company in Three Rivers.
She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, feeding the birds and dancing.
She is survived by one son: Jeff Bower of Forsyth, Missouri; three sisters, Jocelyn Baldwin of Traverse City, Sally Coker of Sturgis and Shirley (Harold) Arensdorf of Tryon, Neb.; one brother: Lynn (Gloria) Gest of White Pigeon; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters, Roberta Miller, Sandra Coker and Doniue Gest; and two brothers-in-law, Steve Coker and Bruce “Bud” Baldwin.
In accordance with Jackie’s wishes there will be no visitation. A graveside service and burial will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Burr Oak Cemetery in Burr Oak. The Rev. Dennis DeMott will officiate
