Fugitive arrest in Three Rivers

Three Rivers police officers last week apprehended a fugitive wanted from the Detroit area.

According to a department media release, the Romulus Police Department contacted Three Rivers authorities regarding a 23-year-old man wanted on a number of felonies from Wayne County.

Romulus officials indicated they had reason to believe the suspect was in Three Rivers.

A search warrant was executed around 1:45 p.m. Thursday at a residence in the 300 block of South Erie Street. With the assistance of K9 Jake, the suspect came out of hiding from inside the house without further incident.

He was wanted on felony warrants for fleeing police, escaping custody and stealing a police vehicle, according to authorities. He was also wanted on 13 outstanding warrants, police said.
