Truck stolen

  A Ford 350 pickup truck was stolen last weekend from a public parking space in White Pigeon Township. State police said the 1999 dual-wheeled vehicle was in the Klinger Lake public access parking lot when it was stolen between noon and 4 p.m. Saturday. Complaints of phone scam in the area

  The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department’s Criminal Investigation Division received a complaint in regards to a phone scam. The complainant advised they received a call indicating their debit card had been temporarily locked. Bicyclist injured in crash

An 8-year-old Centreville boy was seriously injured late Wednesday afternoon in a car-bicycle accident on M-66 near the M-86 south junction. The unidentified youngster was attempting to cross the highway when he did not see a vehicle driven by Joyce Waltke, age 79, of Sturgis. The boy was airlifted to Bronson Methodist Hospital for treatment. Read More »

Car semi crash near Mottville

A Muskegon man sustained serious injuries in a car-semi crash on M-103 north of Barker Road in Mottville Township Wednesday afternoon. 51-year-old Lyle Maki began passing a semi with his Volkswagen Beetle, when he collided head-on with an on-coming semi driven by Joe Takacs, age 54, of Detroit. Accident causes minor injuries

  A two-vehicle accident last week in Mendon Township left four people with minor injuries.   Two Sturgis men were injured after they were involved in a traffic accident Monday in Nottawa Township. The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department said Sturgis resident Charles Smith, was driving east on M-86 when he lost control of his car in the 25000 block.
