Tobacco products and alcohol were taken from a Colon business last week after a cinder block was used to smash the window of its front door. Man critical after crash

A 71-year-old South Haven man was in critical condition after he was involved in a motorcycle accident last week in Marcellus Township. Cass County Sheriff Joe Underwood said Jerry Hartsfield was driving his motorcycle north on M-40, where he lost control and the two-wheeler flipped over and into a ditch. Traffic signal change in Sturgis

The city of Sturgis has issued a temporary traffic signal change for the intersection of West West Street and North Centerville Road. Beginning at 5 p.m. Monday, the traffic signal will be changed to flashing-red mode for West Street and flashing-yellow for Centerville. Missing man has been found

State police report that a missing man has been found.  Police had issued an alert when 81-year-old Paul Fifer of White Pigeon had not returned home.  He was found in Lawrence in good condition. Read More »

Two people were charged with drug-related offenses following the discovery of methamphetamine earlier this week at a residence in Sturgis.
