Complaints of phone scam in the area

  The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department’s Criminal Investigation Division received a complaint in regards to a phone scam. The complainant advised they received a call indicating their debit card had been temporarily locked. Accident causes minor injuries

  A two-vehicle accident last week in Mendon Township left four people with minor injuries. Officers from St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department were called at 9 p.m. Friday to the intersection of Silver Street and M-60. Injures after car strikes tree

  Two Sturgis men were injured after they were involved in a traffic accident Monday in Nottawa Township. The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department said Sturgis resident Charles Smith, was driving east on M-86 when he lost control of his car in the 25000 block.   The St. Joseph County United Way and Sturgis Walmart are teaming up for a program that will benefit local students. Plea agreement reached

  A Burr Oak woman charged with possession of child sexually abusive material and using a computer to commit a crime is set for sentencing Sept. 29 in District Court after reaching a plea agreement last week.
