Tommy L McDonald, age 65, of Constantine, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014. He was born in Tulsa, OK on August 25, 1948, a son of Albert and Evelyn (Wright) McDonald. Tommy served in the US Navy. On June 30, 1966 he married Donna Barfield in Snyder, TX. Tommy worked as a Master Diesel Mechanic at Tommy’s Diesel in White Pigeon, and had previously worked as a truck driver and cook. He was a member of the Arthur E. Stears American Legion, Post # 223, Constantine. Tommy also enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles, working on and rebuilding cars.
Tommy is survived by his wife, Donna McDonald, Constantine, daughter, Tonya René (Cory) Fries, Sturgis; sons Tommy Russell McDonald, Constantine; Randell Lynn McDonald, St. Louis, MO; Derek Lee (Faith Ann) McDonald, Krugerville, TX, sister Patricia Gossett, Elkhart, TX, grandchildren Katalina Victoria McDonald, Union, Tory Edward Fries, Troy Isaac Fries, Reegan René Fries, all of Sturgis, Cody Allenn Tindle, Daren Lee McDonald, both of Krugerville, TX, Devon Dentler, Daylan Bennett, both of Mottville, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Lloyd Moore, brothers Freddy McDonald, and Jerry McDonald.
Relatives and friends will be received Saturday 10-11 AM. at Trinity Missionary Church, Constantine, where Memorial Services will follow at 11:00 A.M. . Reverend Terry Neumayer will officiate. Shirley Mae Kelly of Constantine, MI, entered into eternal glory on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on August 1, 1937 a daughter of Enoch and Geneva (Walker) Woulard, in Battle, MS. In 1947 she moved to Chicago, IL, where she later met Willie Hathorne, he preceded her in death on July 3, 2010, they had 9 children. She loved her family, enjoyed devoting her life to caring for them, and always ended a phone conversation with “I LOVE YOU”. Shirley enjoyed gardening, animals, soap operas and she loved her beer.
Shirley is survived by sons Arzell (Tessie), Zell, daughters Diane (Joe) Banks, Brenda (Willie) Cosey, Glenise (Earnest) Marshall and Kimberly (Alonzo), Ballentine, Beverly (Herb Becton) King, 39 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, sister and best friend Margaret Hackney, sister Augusta, brothers Eddie, Sam, Larry, Albert, James, Johnnie, and a host of extended relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Willie Hathorne, Jr., Gene Kaufman, brother Jose Woulard.
Relatives and friends will be received at the Eley Funeral Home in Constantine Thursday from 4-6 p.m., where services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM.

Judy Ann Grant, 68, of Constantine, passed away Monday, July 21, 2014 at Three Rivers Health. She was born in Schoolcraft, MI on November 16, 1945, a daughter of Marguerita (Hoyt) and Chester Carter. On February 20, 1964 she married John W. Grant in Centreville. Judy worked at Crocker Limited Centreville, Statewide Aluminum Elkhart and Pioneer Hi Bred in Constantine. She enjoyed collecting dolls and searching yard sales. Mostly Judy loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and cherished spending time with them.
Judy is survived by her husband John Grant, Constantine, daughters, Sandy (Terry) Shirk, White Pigeon; Sherry (John) Young, Constantine; Darlene (Bert Shirk) Leister, Three Rivers; son, Richard (Lisa) Grant, Constantine; sisters Helen Shirk, Jennie Hooker, Bonnie McCleod, 1/2 sister Mary Lou Young, brothers Butch Carter and Merle Carter, 1/2 brother Dick Allen, 11 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Pat Schragg and 1/2 brother Don Allen.
Relatives and friends will be received Wednesday from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine, where Religious Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 24th, with Reverend Scott Manning officiating. Sandra A. Conner, age 73, of White Pigeon, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014 at her home. She was born in Summertown, TN on October 26, 1940, a daughter of Willis and Hazel (Parker) Hardiman. Sandra was a homemaker, and had also worked in customer service at Service Merchandise, Kokomo, IN and Lakeland, FL and at Disney World in Orlando, FL.
Sandra is survived by her daughters Christina (Tom) Dowdican, Ionia, MI; Jody (Joe) Halter, White Pigeon; MI, sons Marvin (Cindy) Conner, Fort Meade, FL; Rick (Carrie) Conner, Auburndale, FL; Danny (Lisa) Conner, Winter Haven, FL, 14 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, son John LaVern Conner, and brother Don Hardiman.
Relatives and friends will be received at Elm Ridge Memorial Park, Cemetery Chapel, 4600 W. Kilgore Ave. Muncie, IN 47304 Wednesday from 1-2 PM with funeral services following at 2:00 PM. Donna Gail Schultz, age 77, of Mendon, died Saturday, July 19, 2014 at her home. She was born in Benton Harbor on Feb. 10, 1937 the daughter of the late Marion and Mae (Bodtke) Harner. She graduated from Benton Harbor High School and attended South Bend College of Commerce. Donna first worked at the Haas Corporation (now IAC) in Mendon, and then at Mendon High School as an assistant librarian for over 23 years. She attended the Crossroads Missionary Church and was a life member and past Matron of Mendon Chapter #154 and the Three Rivers Chapter #210 of the Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed cooking, especially baking cookies, reading, and crossword puzzles. She loved spending time with her family and fellow church members and Eastern Star activities.
Donna was married to Norman Schultz on Oct. 15, 1959 in Angola. Norm died on Aug. 29, 2002. Donna is survived by a daughter, Mary (Joe) Salter of Mendon; two sons, Rick (Carlyn) Schultz of Paradise, PA, and Bill (Vicki) Schultz of Mendon; five grandsons, Jared (Coral) Salter, Caleb (Monica) Salter, Ryan, Eathen, and Elijah Schultz; great granddaughter, Alexandria Salter; step-daughter, Carol Weinberg-Smith of Farmington Hills; step-son, Robert (Cindy) Schultz of Columbus, OH; brother, Robert (Joyce) Harner; sister, Carol (Stuart) Smith; nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon where there will be an Eastern Star Rite at 7:45 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 11 am on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Crossroads Missionary Church with Pastor Bryan Balasa officiating. Burial will be in Mendon Cemetery. Patricia Ann Straw, 62, of Elkhart, IN, passed away Wednesday, July 16th, 2014 at Elkhart Center for Hospice Care. Patricia was born in Martin, Kentucky on February 12, 1952, a daughter of Cora Lee (Harrington) and Troy Taylor. She graduated from East Central High School in Tulsa, OK in 1972. Patricia attended North Eastern State University and later Cosmetology school in Indianapolis. She worked as a Union Steward at US Post Office Indianapolis, IN., for 25 years. Patricia was very dedicated to her job with the post office and cherished spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughter, Angela Straw-Harrison, of Spring Hill, TN; son, Christopher (Janella) Straw, of Lebanon, OH; three sisters, Celia (Theo) McDuff, of Wichita, KS; Linda Slone, of White Pigeon, MI; Karen Taylor, of Constantine, MI; brother, Troy E. (Arlene) Taylor, of Elkhart, IN, grandchildren CJ Straw, Joshua Straw, Alexis Straw, Nicholas Straw, Austin Harrison and Trinati Harrison, nieces Dawn Cates, Stephanie Hamby, Andrea Taylor and nephew Aaron Taylor. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother in law Bill Slone.
Relatives and friends will be received Saturday from 12 -2 pm at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine where Religious Services will follow at 2 pm, with Pastor Christopher Straw officiating.
