My name is Jim and I am a catcher dog extraordinair!  I am a 7 month old male Lab mix.  I won’t be a very big dog but I have a lot of personality!  Tennis ball are more fun than anything else in this world.  Even though I have loads of energy I do not play rough.  I fetch the ball and bring is right back and very gently give it to the person in charge.  If you need a very good dog to share your life with you should stop by and get to know me.  I am in pen 11 Tag 6 docket 8602 at the St Joseph County Animal Control located 652 E Main, Centreville, MI.  Animal Control is opened Monday – Friday from 8 AM – 4:30 PM.  A. C. will be closed on December 31 and January 1 to observe the New Years holiday.
Please visit the Animal Rescue Fund web site to see more adoptable pets.  Go to www.ARFund.org for more information about this group.  My wish for the new year is that each person that reads this, do one thing to make one animal’s life better in the new year.  Happy New Year to ALL!

The cats still need homes!!

We are four very nice cats waiting for the right family to stop by and adopt us.  We have had families but something happened and now we are here hoping for a new set of people.  It is not ideal to bring a new pet into your home during this busy Holiday Season but cats seem to adjust better than dogs.  If your Christmas Season is not too hectic please consider adoption.  Reaching out will save a life.   Please keep in mind that a pet is not a present, it is a commitment.  These cats and several more are available at the St Joseph County Animal Control located 652 E Main, Centreville, MI.

Elkhart policeman found dead

December 31, 2009 by WLKM · Leave a Comment

Authorities believe a medical condition caused the death of a northern Indiana police officer who was found dead inside his squad car.  Elkhart police say an officer who was relieving 43-year-old Cpl. Michael Swygart found him outside Elkhart General Hospital late Tuesday. Police believe he was completing reports on his in-car computer after accompanying a person to the hospital for treatment.  County Coroner John White says an autopsy determined Swygart died of a chronic medical condition, although the specific cause won’t be released until tissue tests have been completed.  Swygart was a 20-year veteran of the city’s police force.  (AP)
