Enrollment Down At GOCC

Student enrollment figures for the fall semester at Glen Oaks Community College show 1,333 students taking for-credit classes at the Centreville-area school.

In all, 13,459 credit hours are being taken at Glen Oaks this semester.

While school officials are pleased with the interest in the college, the numbers are down from a peak in the fall of 2009, when 1,645 students were taking 15,749 credit hours.

In addition, dual enrollment numbers are down from a high of 300 in 2009. The latest figures show 245 area high school students are enrolled in at least one class at Glen Oaks.

With 138 students, Sturgis High School is the most-represented dual-enrollment group at Glen Oaks. Centreville High School is second, with 53 students.
