GOCC Haunted Forest Success

November 4, 2011 by WLKM

Glen Oaks Community College reports that its inaugural Haunted Forest event last week drew more than 1,400 people over its three-night run.

The free event included a haunted trail and several other Halloween-themed events at a nearby barn. Organizers asked participants to bring a canned good in lieu of a cost for admission. The drive netted a collection of hundreds of pounds of non-perishable food to be donated to area food pantries.

Based on the success of the 2011 event, organizers said they are confident a follow-up program will take place in 2012.
