MDOT Got Little Feedback
December 9, 2011 by WLKM
Michigan Department of Transportation officials got little feedback from the public Thursday regarding a traffic reconfiguration planned for Main Street in Centreville.
Eight people attended a two-hour, public-input session.
The $425,000 plan calls for a center turn lane from Shimmel Road west to Nottawa Street in downtown Centreville. The one-mile stretch will feature single east- and westbound lanes, a design currently in place from Nottawa Street west to the blinker at Centreville-Constantine Road.
MDOT officials said the reconfiguration is expected to reduce the number of rear-end collisions.
The project is slated to begin in early 2013.
