Carol McCarroll, 64

Carol Ann (Schabes-Morgan) McCarroll, age 64 of White Pigeon, died unexpectedly at her home on Friday, Jan. 6, 2012.

She was born in Three Rivers on June 27, 1947, the daughter of William F. and Catherine (Callopy) Schabes. The family moved to Chicago where Carol met and married Ronald L. Morgan on Aug. 22, 1964. They returned to Michigan in 1969 and resided in Three Rivers and Luther until Ron’s death in 1996. Carol was married to James “JR” McCarroll on July 16, 1999 and they resided together in White Pigeon until JR’s death in 2009.

Carol was involved in crafts, crocheting, and collecting angels. She read the Daily Word and enjoyed classic television programs from the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s. She especially enjoyed time with her family and watching sporting events.

Carol is survived by six children, Kevin Morgan of White Pigeon, Katherine (Dennis) Brueck of Mendon, Kimberly (Christopher) Johnson of Fort Wayne, Kerry (Randy) Wonders of Three Rivers, Keith (Barbara) Morgan of Cassopolis, and Kaleb McCarroll of White Pigeon; a step-son, Joseph (Stacy) McCarroll and step-daughter, Jessie McCarroll both of Lansing; 20 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Schabes of Sturgis; sister, Joyce Keller of Three Rivers; sister in law, Barbara Mitchell of Three Rivers; special friends, Phyllis and Jim Wagner of White Pigeon; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her two husbands, Carol was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Joanne Jackson; and two brothers, Jack and Bill Schabes.

Cremation has been conducted. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday Jan. 14, 2012, at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon with Rev. Father Jim Vinh Le officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Carol’s ashes along with the ashes of her first husband, Ronald Morgan will be buried in Mendon Cemetery.
