Successful Meet-n-Greet

A joint workshop staged Monday by board of education members from Mendon Community Schools and Centreville Public Schools was described by district officials as a meet-and-greet event.

Rob Kuhlman, who serves as superintendent of both districts, said the Mendon board has two new members and Centreville three new members since he assumed the job prior to the start of the 2010-11 school year.

Monday’s meeting, which took place at Mendon High School, provided an opportunity for the new members to meet their counterparts and for previously acquainted members to reintroduce themselves.

Kuhlman said the two boards hadn’t had a joint meeting since they came together to hire him in May 2010. Kuhlman and Roger Cupp, president of the Mendon school board, said the joint meetings should take place at least once a year as a matter of maintaining open dialogue and relevant communication.
