Two Recognized From NOAA

A pair of employees from the Three Rivers Clean Water Plant were recently recognized for their dedication and longevity for reporting weather observations.

Twenty-year veteran James Shears and Joseph Madaras, a 15-year employee, were acknowledged with plaques issued by Brentley Lothamer, representing the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

In addition, plant director James Baker accepted recognition from Lothamer for Three Rivers providing data to the NOAA and National Weather Service for 50 years.

Lothamer noted the extreme temperatures reported from Three Rivers was 103 degrees in June 1988 and 23 degrees below zero in January 1994.

The recognition came during a recent Three Rivers City Commission meeting.
