United Way to hand out donuts

Volunteers from the St. Joseph County United Way will be at various intersections next week handing out donuts as a thank you to St. Joseph County for its support of the Centreville-based agency.

The gesture also is a reminder that the so-called Donut Drive means the local United Way is kicking off its 2013 campaign.

Executive Director Kelly Hostetler said volunteers passing out donuts are not looking for donations at this time, but the hope is the public will remember to pledge a donation at some point for the 2013 campaign.

From 7:30 to 9 a.m. daily next week, volunteers will be in Centreville Monday, Sturgis Tuesday, Three Rivers Wednesday, Colon Thursday and White Pigeon Friday.

They will be in Mendon, Constantine and Burr Oak later in the month.
