Madonna G. Coy, age 87, of Sturgis, Michigan passed away Monday January 7, 2013 at the Treasure Coast Hospice Residence in St. Port Lucie, Florida.
She was born December 7, 1925 in West Unity, Ohio a daughter of the late Virgil M. and Fanelda C. (Patten) Dauber.
Mrs. Coy was a lifelong Sturgis resident and enjoyed wintering at Desoto Park, Sebring Florida for over 30 years.
On October 18, 1946 she married Dwight Lee Coy in Fremont, Indiana. He died October 6, 1990.
For 34 years she with her husband owned and operated Midwest Haulers until their retirement in 1980.
She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Sturgis and Sebring, a longtime member and past president of the Sturgis Hospital Tray Guild and TOPS.
Mrs. Coy is survived by two sons: James (Sandi) Coy of Port St. Lucie, Florida and David (Joanne) Coy of Kalamazoo; three granddaughters: three grandsons: 6 great grandchildren; one sister: Beverly Garvey of Bryan, Ohio and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 P.M. Friday at the First United Methodist Church, 200 Pleasant Ave., in Sturgis. Funeral services celebrating the life of Madonna G. Coy will begin at 2:00 P.M. Friday at the church. The Rev. Deb Johnson will officiate. A graveside committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis.
