Shirley J. Miller, age 77, of Constantine, MI formerly of Goshen, IN, passed away Tuesday, January 22nd, 2013 surrounded by her family at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born in Goshen, IN on June 9, 1935, a daughter of Shirl and Lois (Hapner) Foos. Shirley attended school in Goshen. On May 18, 1951 Shirley married Tobias C. Miller in Elkhart, IN, moving to Constantine in 1968. Shirley enjoyed taking care of children for family and friends.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years Tobias C. Miller of Constantine, daughters Sharol Stelter of Grand Rapids, MI, Carolyn Schwemer of White Pigeon, MI, Patricia Oswalt of Constantine, MI, son Ronald (Tonya) Miller of Constantine, MI, 10 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, sisters Roberta Ratliff of Elkhart, IN, Sandra (Don) Pollock of Goshen, IN, brother Robert (Pat) Foos of Cape Coral, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents Shirl and Lois Foos, son Steven Miller, great grandson Evan Besemer, and sons in law Douglas Schwemer and Timothy Oswalt.
Relatives and friends will be received Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine and Saturday from 12 – 1 p.m.. Religious Services will follow at 1:00 P.M. Saturday with Reverend Scott Manning, Constantine United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in the Constantine Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Miller family.
