Michigan Works! hosts job fair

The Michigan Works! of Kalamazoo-St. Joseph counties is hosting a job fair this weekend to fill more than 500 positions at American Axle in Three Rivers.

The company announced earlier this month its plan for a $100 million investment in its Three Rivers plant. About 500 hourly positions and 40 salaried jobs will be available, company officials said.

Saturday’s job fair runs 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Kalamazoo Michigan Works! service center, 1601 S. Burdick St.

The new jobs will bring American Axle’s local workforce to about 1,300 by the time the new hires are brought aboard, a process expected to be completed before the end of the year.
