Keith Clark, 65

Keith Allan Clark, age 65, of Three Rivers, passed away suddenly on September 1, 2013 at Borgess Medical Center following a very brief battle with cancer. Keith was born on Sept. 3, 1947 in Muskegon, MI. the son of the late Monte K. and Delores E. (Spoelma) Clark.

Mr. Clark graduated from Muskegon High School and later attended Kalamazoo College. Keith honorably served his country as an Army Ranger in the 4th Infantry Division achieving the rank of Sargent in Reconnaissance Operations during the Vietnam War. His service to his country didn’t end after his discharge as Keith was active with the Three Rivers American Legion Hice-Shutes Post #170, the 40 & 8 Voiture #545, Three Rivers V.F.W. Post, Disabled American Veterans Post #17, AmVets Post #73, Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 93, National Past chef de Gare Club, Scottish American Military Society, and Three Rivers Eagles Aerie 2303.

Keith loved music and theatre, and was very active with the Grand Rapids & District Pipe Band, Kalamazoo Pipe Band, West Michigan Pipes and Drums, and the Three Rivers German Band. He also acted and directed in many theatres including Kalamazoo Civic, New Vic, Twin City Players, Beckwith Theatre, Elkhart & South Bend Civic Theatre and Three Rivers Community Players.

Music was a big part of Keith’s life. He enjoyed bicycling and was an avid Dr. Who fan. He searched tirelessly for the perfect Cheeseburger and was known to tip a pint of Guinness with friends. Keith was the proud parent of three rescued Scottish Deerhounds and a chatty cockatiel. Keith believed that his work with the military organizations afforded him an opportunity to continue to serve his country.

Keith leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife Pamela S. (Gruber) Clark, whom he married Sept. 22, 1987; two children, Geoffrey (Allison) Clark, and Laura Clark; as well as many , many friends and acquaintances.

Keith’s Ceilidh (celebration of his life via music) will be held 7:00-10:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013 at the American Legion Post, 5999 S. Main Street, Three Rivers. If you play pipes or drums, please bring your instrument. If you play another instrument and would like to share a tune, please do so. Interment will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 6, 2013 at the Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI.
