Update – Fatal Cass County crash

Authorities say a 4-year-old girl who died following a two-vehicle crash in southwestern Michigan appears to have been properly restrained in a child safety seat at the time of the crash. The Cass County sheriff’s office on Thursday issued an update on the Monday afternoon crash in Mason Township that killed Adrianna Chanthavongsavath. The department had said Tuesday that the girl hadn’t been restrained in a child safety seat. After the crash, the department said her mother, 25-year-old Linda Chanthavongsavath was in stable condition and the other driver 73-year-old Edwin Powless Jr. of Otsego was in critical condition. The department says they’re hospitalized but there’s no update on conditions. Linda Chanthavongsavath was driving a car and Powless was driving a pickup truck. The circumstances of the crash are under investigation.  (AP)
