Fannie Hochstetler, 93

Fannie Mae Hochstetler, 93, of Three Rivers, died Nov. 21, 2014, at Three Rivers Health from pneumonia. She was bornMay 31, 1921, in Nappanee, Ind., to the late Benedict P. and Ida (Miller) Yoder. She was married Dec. 9, 1940, to Elias Melvin Hochstetler. FannieMae worked outside the home at various factory jobs and was a homemaker for her family. She was a member of the United Church of God.

She is survived by two daughters, Alma Jean Bernheisel of Parkville, Mich., and Dorothy Mae ( Paul) Topash of Sarasota, Fla.; three sons, Sherman Jay Hochstetler of Goshen, Ind., William Ray Hochstetler (Paula) of Schoolcraft; Allen Eugene (Candy) Hochstetler of Centreville. Also surviving are three sisters, Alma (Clark) Schweitzer of Goshen, Ind., Clara Stauffer of Elkhart, Ind., Iva (Dean) Christner of Shipshewana, Ind.; two brothers, Melvin (Elsie) Yoder of Sarasota, Fla. and Lonnie (Clara) of Hamilton, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elias Melvin Hochstetler; her parents; four brothers; two sister and one grandson.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4-8 p.m. today at the Farrand Funeral Home in White Pigeon. Funeral and memorial services celebrating the life of Fannie Mae will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Bill Hochstetler and Pastor Henry Bontrager officiating. A meal with fellowship will follow.
