Jack Kauszler, 92

Kauszler obitJack Warren Kauszler, age 92, of Three Rivers went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 5, 2014 at Borgess Medical Center following a brief illness. Jack was born in Three Rivers on August 9th, 1922 the son of the late Lloyd and Bessie (Bennage) Kauszler.
Jack has been a lifetime resident of Three Rivers. He graduated from Three Rivers High School. On December 29th, 1946 Jack was united in marriage to Bonnie Hagenbuch, who preceded him in death in 2013. Jack served his country in the U.S. Air Force during WWII and was honorably discharged. After returning home, Jack and Bonnie owned and operated Kauszler Brother’s Hardware for over 42 years where they made many lasting friendships.
Jack was a member and past President of the Three Rivers Chamber of Commerce and a member of its Board of Directors. He was a Charter member of the Three Rivers Downtown Merchants Association and Downtown Development Association where he was a past President. Jack also belonged to the American Legion Hice-Shutes Post #170, Three Rivers Hospital Auxiliary and the First Presbyterian Church in Three Rivers.
Jack loved and adored his family and his community. He was never without that great smile and always had a great line for his friends and family. He enjoyed golfing and working in his yard. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory, daughter, Susan (Mike) Kaiser, of Three Rivers; son Jim (Debbie) Kauszler; of Sturgis, MI.; granddaughters, Chrissy (Tom) Shively, Jackie (Mike) Hankins, and Mary (Mark) Schindel. Seven great-grandchildren, Savannah, Priscilla, Dianna, Abigail, Claire, Brady and Markus.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until time of prayer services beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Hohner Funeral Home with Rev. Brenda Deily officiating.

Military Honors to follow services under the auspices of the American Legion Post # 170.
In accordance with Jack’s wishes cremation will be conducted following services and interment of cremains will be held at a later date at Riveside Cemetery.

Memorial donations in memory of Jack may be directed to The First Presbyterian Church Building and Grounds Fund or the Animal Rescue Fund of St. Joseph County. Envelopes available at Hohner Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
