William Frays, 88

William Arthur (Bill) Frays, age 88, of Mendon, passed away Wednesday, February 25th, at Fairview Nursing & Rehabilitation Centre in  Centreville. William was born in Sturgis, MI on October 20, 1926, a son of  Arthur and Velma (Fry)  Frays. Bill attended schools in Sturgis and served in the US Air Force from 1946 to 1947. On July 26, 2002 he married Leona M. Mitchell in Centreville. He worked at General Motors in Three Rivers and at Form Tubes in Sturgis. Bill enjoyed fishing and hunting.

William is  survived by his wife Leona Frays, two daughters, Sandra O’Brien, of Sturgis; Betty Goings, of Sturgis; a son,Michael (Lynette) Frays, of Sturgis; 11 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and brother James Frays, of Sturgis. He was preceded in death by is parents, a daughter at birth, 2 brothers David and Robert Frays, sister Fay Gum and the children’s mother June Frays.

Relatives and friends will be received Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the Eley Funeral Home in Centreville where Religious Services will be held 10 am Saturday with Pastor David Grimm, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be at Prairie River Cemetery Centreville. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to  the charity of ones choice.
