Officer sentenced perjury case

A former Constantine Police reserve officer was sentenced Friday to at least 20 months in prison for lying under oath in a case related to the homicide of 11-year-old Jodi Parrack.
Raymond McCann II, who previously pled no contest to lying under oath during the investigative subpoena into the 2007 homicide of Parrack, was sentenced in St. Joseph County Circuit Court Friday afternoon by Judge Paul Stuteman.
McCann, who has been in the St. Joseph County Jail since his April 9 arrest, was credited with 336 days served. Consequently, he will be eligible for parole in November.
In exchange for McCann’s plea bargain four other perjury charges were dismissed.
Parrack was found murdered in November 2007 in Constantine Township Cemetery.
McCann has been labeled a person of interest in the case, though DNA evidence found on Parrack’s body did not match a sample he provided.
