Group sends petition language to county clerk

A representative from the group TR Cares turned in petition language for the recall of three members of the Three Rivers Community Schools Board of Education.
Sherrie Nowicki on Monday submitted to county clerk Pattie Bender the petition language regarding board president Mike Bosma, vice president Waneta Truckey and secretary Carl Barth.
A fourth member, Dave Kutz, was to be targeted as well. Kutz, however, was scheduled to announce his resignation from the board during its regularly scheduled meeting Monday.
The proposed recalls stem from public dissatisfaction over the board’s action in March to not renew the contracts of administrators Pete Anderson, Kevin Hamilton and Bradley Coon.
Bender said the St. Joseph County Election Commission will conduct a clarity/factual hearing on statements of reasons for recalling the trio. The hearing takes place at 9 a.m. June 26 in the second-floor probate court room.
