Snows to Chair Carnegie Effort

June 15, 2009 by WLKM

The Carnegie Center for the Arts reports that Taylor and Mary Snow have graciously agreed to act as co-chairs for the 2009 Friends of the Carnegie campaign.

The drive will kick off on Friday, June 26th, with a 5:01 party at the Carnegie, catered by A Place in Time. Music will be provided by Matt Chambers and Michael Northrop.

Taylor and Mary Snow have been active leaders in the City of Three Rivers since their return to the community in 1985. As an acknowledgement of their unselfish service in many aspects of the community, they were named Citizens of the Year in 2008.

There was little hesitation on the part of the Snows when asked to chair the 2009 campaign. Beyond the fact that they are always ready to pitch in, the Snows believe that “the Carnegie is a real jewel! It affects the lives of thousands of students each year, serious artists seeking a venue to display their work, and many, many people who come to see the exhibits. It is unusual for a small town to have such a wonderful place and we need to do whatever it takes to support the Carnegie to the fullest.” Mr. Snow went on to say, “Three Rivers can boast of both the Carnegie and the Riviera, both of which have the ability to bring a variety of cultural, musical, and artistic events to this community that few other areas our size can offer.”
