Breast Cancer Support Group will meet
November 11, 2009 by WLKM
The next meeting of the Three Rivers Health Breast Cancer Support Group will be held on Tuesday, November 17, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 p.m. in the St. Joseph Conference Room at the Hospital. The two-hour meeting will begin with informative presentations, followed by refreshments and a support group discussion.
The presentations will focus on how to stress a little less and stay balanced during the holidays and beyond. Speakers Katharine Gaj and Kim Rogers will teach the use of a self-inventory tool to learn how to identify, manage, and effectively relieve stress. This is stress management to take a person through the holidays and on into a new year.
Katharine and Kim are the facilitators of this support group and are health professionals and breast cancer survivors themselves. Katharine has a doctorate in physical therapy and is a four-year survivor. Kim has a Master’s in Nursing and a minor in holistic health and is a 20-year survivor.
New members are encouraged to attend this informative presentation, whether they are currently under treatment or have survived breast cancer. No reservations are necessary, and this group is offered free of charge as a service to the community. The group meets on the third Tuesday of the month.
