Demolition at Meyer Broadway Park

Roberts Brothers Excavating of Three Rivers has been awarded the contract for building demolition and site cleanup at Meyer Broadway Park.

The St. Joseph County Board of Commissioners accepted the Roberts Excavating bid of $5,160, the lowest of six received for demolition of a house and four outbuildings on an 11-acre parcel purchased by the county on May 1, 2009. A post and beam barn and attached structure will be left alone.

The farm house and outbuildings on Roberts Road are collapsing and the site has been used for illegal dumping of household refuse.

The contract calls for demolition, cleanup, removal of all refuse, and finish-grading and seeding of the site.
