Marcellus man injured in hit & run

A 25-year-old Marcellus man was seriously injured in a hit and run crash shortly before 8pm Saturday. The unidentified victim was unloading some equipment from the rear of his truck at Jorge’s Bar on US-12 in Burr Oak Township, when a car backed up and collided with the victim’s pickup, pinning him between both vehicles. A bar employee pursued the suspect until State Police officers were able to catch up and stop the suspect on Big Hill Road, south of US-12. The driver, a 19-year-old male from Sturgis, was arrested on several charges. The victim was taken to a Kalamazoo hospital, for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
