Woman dies in Cass County lake

A Shipshewana woman died Tuesday in a swimming accident in Cass County’s Porter Township. Sheriff Richard Behnke said deputies were called at 7:30 p.m. to a location at Long Lake, where a group of seven people from Indiana were wakeboarding. Community Health Agency encourages vaccination

The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency is encouraging parents to keep pre-teen and teenage students prepared for school by being fully immunized. Grant money will bring internet to rural areas

Businesses in Cass, Lenawee and St. Joseph counties will share in $33.8 million in grant money, leading more than 21,000 homes and businesses to modern broadband internet in rural areas. Colon prohibits recreational marijuana businesses

Municipal officials in Colon have passed an ordinance prohibiting businesses that grow, produce, market or sell marijuana for recreational purposes.
