Motorists in Sturgis Township are being advised that the St. Joseph County Road Commission has started repairs on Shimmel Road at the railroad crossing, just north of U.S. 12. Accident claimed life of woman

A Marcellus woman died as a result of injuries sustained in a traffic crash Thursday morning. The victim was identified as 23-year-old Rachel Jacobs. She was eastbound on M-216 when she collided with another eastbound vehicle driven by 19-year-old Brandon Farrand of Colon. Manhole repairs Thursday

Manhole repairs to be performed by crews from the Michigan Department of Transportation Thursday will result in a lane closure in Three Rivers. MDOT said the closure will be on the southbound U.S. 131 Business Loop, between Hoffman and Adams streets. The agency anticipates the lane closures will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Road work on US 131

Concrete repairs will close a lane of southbound U.S. 131 in Kalamazoo and St. Joseph counties next week. The Michigan Department of Transportation announced the work will begin around South Street in Schoolcraft and continue south to Flowerfield Road. The work is slated to start at 6 a.m. Monday and continue for two weeks, ending May 11.

Lane Closure on M-60 Today

The Michigan Department of Transportation is expected to perform maintenance work today in Three Rivers. As a result, the agency has announced a single-lane closure on eastbound M-60 between Wood and Washington streets from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. MDOT officials said traffic will be maintained with a flagging operation.
