Two deaths after car hits fallen tree on M-66

Two people died early Friday when their car hit a tree which had fallen across a highway 2 miles north of East Leroy in Calhoun County. A Cass County teen was injured in a single-vehicle accident after she reportedly fell asleep at the wheel in Porter Township. Authorities say a 52-year-old man has died after being struck in the head by a propeller while trying to start a single-engine airplane in southwestern Michigan.
