Man injured in motorcycle crash

A White Pigeon man was injured in a motorcycle accident Sunday evening in Fabius Township. State police said John Benson, 69, was driving east on Gleason Road around 7 p.m. when he lost control and crashed near King Road. Semi-tractor damaged in Lockport

A semi-tractor was reported damaged last weekend in Lockport Township. Sheriff’s deputies said a Freightliner rig was damaged between 7:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday morning in the 16000 block of Lovers Lane. A department media release did not indicate the nature of the damage.

Boat motor stolen from Kline’s Resort

State police are investigating a stolen boat motor last week in Mendon Township. The outboard motor was attached to a fishing boat for sale and parked at the entrance to Kline’s Resort in the 51000 block of Silver Street. Investigators said the victim indicated the theft occurred between Wednesday and Friday.

Mower stolen in Branch County

A riding lawnmower was stolen last week from a residence in Branch County’s Matteson Township. State police said the John Deere mower had a 48-inch cutting deck and appears to have been pushed onto a trailer in the 200 block of North Matteson Lake Road. The theft occurred between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

A federal safety agency investigating a Michigan road crash that killed five bicyclists says it’s still determining the likely cause and other aspects of the accident.
